In 2026, CITRA is strengthening its thermal spraying division with the integration of the MultiCoat™5 multiprocess system. Combining HVOF and plasma spraying processes, this new-generation equipment will enable greater control over spraying parameters and microstructures, improving coating performance, industrial innovation, and technology transfer.

A new strategic step for thermal spraying

CITRA is preparing to install new, state-of-the-art thermal spraying equipment in the CRTS building in early 2026. This development is part of an overall strategy to modernize our surface treatment and coating capabilities.

The system components were delivered in December 2025, marking the launch of this project.

MultiCoat™5: a new-generation multi-process system

MultiCoat™5 is a multi-process system that integrates HVOF (High Velocity Oxygen Fuel) and plasma spraying processes. Already mastered at CITRA, these processes have now undergone a complete technological overhaul, offering increased performance in terms of control, repeatability, and quality of the coatings deposited.

This new equipment will enable:

  • better control of projection parameters,
  • improved microstructural quality of coatings,
  • optimized adhesion and functional properties of treated surfaces,
  • greater flexibility in the choice of projected materials.

Follow the installation stages

The coming months will be devoted to the assembly, installation, and gradual commissioning of the system at CRTS.

CITRA will regularly share the progress of this project until it is fully operational in early 2026. Find us on LinkedIn to stay up to date with our latest news.
